I just completed Lilla Roger's e-course "Make Art the Sells" Part A! Lilla's challenging and varied assignments inspired me to try different genres, styles, tools, and techniques. I have mostly been working in Illustrator, but during the course I explored watercolor and photo manipulation as well. Posted below is my last assignment for the gift market. Lilla asked us to create a design to decorate a 9.5" x 7" zippered accessory bag. Enjoy!

Posted below is my Wall Art Collage Project for Lilla Rogers' e-course "Make Art that Sells!" I love to write humorous one-liners and incorporate them into my designs. This collage project gave me the opportunity to do just that! I usually work digitally using Illustrator. Lilla challenged me to do some "real live painting" this week so I bought some watercolors and began to experiment. It was so much fun watching the colors blend and create visual textures! I cut out the best, scanned, and played with them some more AI. I plan to add watercolor clippings to my design work in the future! Enjoy! ;)

Well I'm officially on school vacation as of Friday and so now I can devote myself full time to creating designs for Lilla's Roger's e-course "Make Art that Sells"...Yeah me! I'm so happy and excited to now have more time to be the student...to learn, grow, and develop as an artist/designer. I thanked Lilla in her post this am for her contagious enthusiam and positive support! Being a student in her class gives me a fresh new perspective on how the teacher/mentor's attitude can make a big impact on student motivation and learning. Posted below is my plate design for this week's Home Decor assignment and my kitchen fabric design for the first week's assignment. I like to juxtapose and synthesize design style periods and colors. I call this plate design style "Mid Century Modern Folkloric" and the kitchen fabric is pure Mid-Century Modern which is "totally trendy" right now. Enjoy! :)

Hey fellow Artists and Designers, have you heard about Lilla Rogers' new e-course "Make Art That Sells"? I will be participating in the course starting in June. I am very excited to learn tricks of the trade from Lilla who is a well known illustration agent representing artists and designers internationally.
Lilla invited all her students to share a picture of their artwork incorporating her cute colorful school logo. Below is my contribution posted to her facebook page.
